I am offering an Epiphone Casino NA from 2001, a manufactured at the legendary Peerless factory in Korea, early hollowbody reissue model of the legendary Epiphone Casino with a hollowbody construction without a center block (total weight 2.63 kg!), top, back, and sides made of laminated maple, set-in mahogany neck with slim taper neck profile and 42.7mm nut width, bound rosewood fingerboard with elaborate parallelogram-shaped pearl inlays, two sonically versatile P-90 Dogear singlecoil pickups and high-quality Kluson Deluxe Keystone tuners and Diamond Trapeze Tailpiece in a brilliant natural high-gloss finish with 3-ply white pickguard including Epiphone “E” logo and sparkling chrome/nickel hardware in excellent collector's condition including black Epiphone luxury hardshell case and professional setup with 10-gauge Ernie Ball strings.
First introduced in 1961, the Epiphone Casino became world famous after John Lennon and George Harrison used this instrument as their main guitar during the recording sessions for the legendary Revolver album. With its characteristically dynamic, warm sound, the Epiphone Casino is a fixture in the history of rock music, and this Epiphone Casino model in natural finish from 2001, still manufactured by Peerless in Korea, is a successful interpretation with all the details of the classic.
The Epiphone Casino NA comes with a mahogany neck glued deep into the hollow body, which gives the guitar excellent sustain and, in particular, high stability. The hollow maple body, in addition to its extremely manageable and comfortable weight of 2.63kg, already produces an extraordinarily voluminous sound without amplification, and a slim taper neck profile, together with the cream-colored binding on the rosewood fingerboard and the 42.7mm nut width, ensures smooth playability.
But once you plug the guitar into an amp, you'll need a moment to recover from the sheer power of its wiry, warm, singing sounds. This is thanks to the two Epiphone P-90 Dogear single-coil pickups, which are perfect for classic vintage rock, rockabilly, and blues sounds, as well as funk and even jazz. The characteristic mid-range dynamic sound is very versatile and makes the guitar an absolute all-rounder.
A sound sample of the model can be found above at the end of the photo gallery.
Visually, the guitar impresses with a simple, timeless look, in which the beautifully grained tonewoods are shown to their best advantage under the thin natural high-gloss finish and complement the shiny chrome/nickel hardware and white pickguard aesthetically.
