For sale is a one of a kind Electro-Voice 667 in terms of color scheme with a shiny black finish! This 667 has a clean and healthy diaphragm, which results in a great sounding frequency response. To get the diaphragm/capsule professionally cleaned, it was sent to Cole down in Tennessee, who has an expertise dealing with vintage mics. Typically, the 666's and 664's often have a ton of metallic debris, which can affect the sound quite a bit. That is a worry that you can avoid since this workhorse has received the proper care it needs. The only caveat was the threading up top was damaged, so the resonator could not be placed in its original position as shown.

Cosmetically, the original paint which was quite worn was sanded down, followed by four light coats of paint for a durable finish. Inside the grille, you will find new foam to help keep plosives and debris away from the capsule. In many cases, these 666/667 microphones have foam crumble, and after that foam is gone, debris usually works its way to the capsule. This debris leads to a worsened frequency response, the same way you might struggle speaking if you tape partially covering your mouth.

The 667 model is quite a bit more uncommon due to its higher price tag over the 666 because it was packaged with an expensive piece of equipment. The 666 and 667 were identical besides paint scheme and labeling of course.
