Kay Speed Demon 1960's - Red with gig bag
Here's a nice little piece of Rock and Roll catalog history. A 1960's Kay Speed Demon in very nice original condition including pickups, knobs and switches, aluminum bridge, tuners and tail piece with a whammy bar. It even has the original clear plastic cover over the end of the whammy bar that has faded to a nice warm yellow. If that was the tip switch on a 50's Gibson, it would cost you $500.
The guitar plays and sounds great demonstrating a lot of flexibility between the two pickups. The neck is a full C profile with what looks like original brass frets on a Brazilian Rosewood board. Very little play wear on both the frets and fingerboard.
Nut width squeaks in at just under 1 11/16". The access port on the back makes access to the interior cavity a real bonus.
Additionally the guitar has a very nice original red finish that has lightly faded with a delicate patina over the entire instrument. Included with the sale is a suitable gig bag with pockets and a good functioning zipper.
48 approval on all guitars and amps.
