AWAY June 6-28

There may be more pristine 1979 Rick 4001's out there, but I'd venture there are none prettier than this one. Absolutely stunning piece of maple. Plays as well as it looks. I'm the 2nd owner of this bass and bought it off a guy who got it new in high school. This bass was barely played for decades.

It came to me with a shim under the nut which actually works really well with the setup. The neck and fretboard are perfect. No dead spots. The frets have plenty of life left in them. The setup is really nice with low action. Currently strung with Rotosound Roundwound lites. It sounds exactly like you'd expect i.e. awesome.

Pickups, switch, pots, and both output jacks are all original. The bridge pickup cap has been bypassed (pictured) to add full range. This is easily reversible but I doubt you'd want to. The neck pickup was weak compared to the bridge so this has been replaced by a factory neck pickup. The original will be included if you want to keep it all original. Pickup levels are even. Sounds great.

There are a couple of dings on the body and headstock (all shown) and some finish missing where it was hung from a stand. The binding is flawless.

Comes with the OHSC.
