The original buyer of this classic bass is Ted Andersen member of the rock group “Fire Escape” popular in the 1960’s, and still owns this 1963 Jazz Bass (Pre CBS). It was one of the first “Custom” Natural Finish Ordered and furnished by Leo Fender in 1963, which then became available in 1965 as a production option. It is all-original (Hardware and Electrics) and is of Vintage grade. This Bass was teamed with a 1963 blond Fender Bassman Amp, which I recently sold on Reverb. This is an absolute gem in Mint condition and has been lovingly cared for through the last 62 years by me. Most photos shown have the (F) chrome cover and chrome pickup cover removed since I used my fingers and never used a Pic. This has also protected the body from pic marks and scratches. In addition, the string mutes were removed, as I like the way the sound carries and hangs in the air and allows for controlled psychedelic feedback when desired, instead of being muted and muted by hand if needed. These pieces are part of the sale and I have shown them among the photos. Once again, these are also in mint condition. Hard case (as shown) has a burn mark, which occurred from a stage light. I’ve just turned 79 and I want to make sure that my bass finds a suitable home with a fellow bassist who would appreciate this fine instrument and would care for it in the same way as I always have.
