*** Please note I am selling this guitar for my elderly dad in his 80s and I am mostly going off of his memory. I am not a guitar person, but have done some research and asked lots of questions. If you see information you think is inaccurate, please free to reach out and let me know so I can correct it. ***

This is a very RARE offering and a beautiful piece of art. This is a David Thomas McNaught (DMT) electric guitar on the Phoenix Rising model completed around 2000. I'm not sure how many Phoenix Risings were made in total, but this one is stamped "201" on the back (see photos). What I was told was that 20 to 30 tigers were made in total for the Phoenix Risings. This one is #018 (signed on the back in gold pen along with McNaught's signature). Out of all the tigers, only TWO were done as white tigers -- the rest were regular orange tigers. So this is one of only two white tigers in existence, and the only LEFT-HANDED white tiger guitar in existence. The other white tiger has translucent blue quilted maple -- this one is translucent quilted purple maple.

My dad was allowed a "semi-commission" option for this particular tiger by McNaught, so he got to choose the details and this tiger is quite a bit more detailed than most of the others in this edition. The fretboard is ebony, the rocks are mahogany obsidian, the blue water is turquoise, the green grass and green backdrop are malachite, the white tiger is ivory bone and ebony, we aren't sure what the moon is, the branches are mahogany obsidian, and the leaves and the moon and the birds are mother of pearl. You can see the guitar edges also feature a distinctive border -- this is paua shell (abalone from New Zealand). Most of the other guitars in this series do NOT feature that extra border.

I was told that McNaught promised NOT to make anymore tigers. The edition is forever closed. I was also told the tigers took a long time to make, and that McNaught only completed two of these guitars per year while they were in production. Each guitar was completely handmade and completed by him and him alone.

This guitar has been stored away for years and barely touched. My dad is a collector, not much of a musician. The fretboard appears free from damage and I would say the guitar is in MINT condition.

I will ship both domestically and internationally, but if you are outside of the USA please reach out for a shipping quote. The guitar MUST be shipped fully insured and with signature required upon delivery. No exceptions.

The guitar is being sold with the hardshell case shown -- which shows some light wear from use and storage.

Want a video? I can provide one, but you will have to contact me to arrange a way I can send it to you (like via email).
