Gibson / 1951 J-50

The J-50 joined the J-45 line in 1942 as a natural finish.
While the J-45 remains popular, the J-50 also gained popularity thanks to its use by Bob Dylan and James Taylor.
While it shares the same specifications as the J-45, the fine texture of the spruce used for the top and the differences in the back and sides offer a unique charm.

Naturally Colored Round Shoulder Guitar

The 16-inch round-shoulder body, the same as the J-45, is finished in a natural color.
Unlike the sunburst finish, it has a more luxurious look.

A distinctive feature of the '51 model is the small, reddish pickguard.

The sides and back are made of mahogany and finished in a subdued brown color to match the natural color.

The fingerboard is made of rosewood and features dot position markers, just like the J-45.

The neck is made of mahogany and has a moderate thickness.

A distinctive feature of this period is the rosewood upper belly bridge with a long saddle.

The headstock is adorned with a gold Gibson modern logo.

The tuning machines are equipped with KLUSON flat plate tuning machines.

The natural color with rounded shoulders gives it a special feel, and J-50s with small pickguards and long saddles are rare on the market.
This guitar is in excellent condition, with every part fully original.
