Well-Hung "Soul Collector" 3" wide padded leather guitar strap, Silver / Black with conchos

"Soul Collector" riffs' off something I did earlier in 2025 called "Bayou." This was a short run series of only a pair, but one of them got picked up at a recent guitar show. I set out here to make what I thought proper to show off a silverburst type guitar with the metallic silver 'n black theme - brings a slightly evil edge, to help cast a spell over your audience with a visual nudge to the dark side.

This strap adjusts 40"-56" giving you about 5" more over a typical off-the-rack ladder-style guitar strap.

The base here is 3" wide skull embossed leather in a metallic silver finish. Admittedly, I got it online at a bit of a deal - when it arrived it didn't have the deep emboss I was hoping for. To help draw out more evil skull texture I smeared some dark antique on it darkening the silver down a bit, and some of that paste sticks in the nooks and crannies after wiping, which helped the skulls out a lot. I then clearcoated it. Three inches wide of metallic silver was a bit much, so much like the gold version of this strap I sewed a 1.5" strip of realistic black faux leather, in contrasting white thread, then added a series of nickel conchos and rivets to it dress it up a bit more. The conchos have black cabochons in them, not real stones, I don't think, but they are nice and shiny.

Main body edges are rolled over, not the chop-off sides you get from so many other strapmakers. This provides extra relief... nobody needs a sharp-edged strap slicing your neck. On the underside, find grippy grey upholstery fabric lining, it's sort of tweedy, comfy on your body, dries out fast and will stop neck dive real good. As is my standard practice, find plenty of real deal heavy duty black leather, also reinforced on the nose and tail sections. Plenty strong to be trusty and long-lasting.

Guy or gal, do you find guitar straps cause you discomfort and make you wince? Try me! I work hard to negate pressure point poundin' and "not-really-there" padding. Well-Hung guitar straps feature rolled edges and extra surface in my 3" wide footprint. This evens and better-distributes the downward pull of a guitar on your body. But wait! There's more!
