Stonewall Pickups Big Jazz set 2024 - Black

These are a set of single coil single-pole jazz bass pickups made by Stonewall Pickups. I'm not a big jazz bass guy, normally due to the pickups individually having an anemic character (just my opinion) and sounding scooped when used together. These pickups remedy those things by being a lot more fuller sounding because of the bigger coil and having a quicker transient due to the single pole pieces which grants more attack and articulation. They're definitely louder than stock fender pickups, I wouldn't say they're super hot but they have a lot more heft than the tradition J. Another thing to note, pickup height makes a big deal depending on how much you like to dig in, I found myself experimenting with different adjustments to great affect.
Ultimately, as I said above, I'm not a jazz bass guy and opted to sell the J these were in and put these up for sale on here.
Buyer notes: these have a wider string spacing than the 19mm fender spacing. I had to use a 20mm spacing bridge (which I still have if someone purchasing these is interested in) to get the strings to be aligned over the pole pieces. Granted, these seem to have a healthy magnetic aperture but I know that single pole pickups can make a popping sound if the string travels outside that aperture so if you have a 19mm spaced bridge, just be aware of that. It may not make a difference, but I feel that its important enough to note. I did make note of that in the photos (forgive the poor scrawling of the "N" and "B"- note those are not actually written on the pickup but in the photo).
