RME HDSP Madi 2003

I may be over-sharing - but this is my first listing on Reverb. I have sold many things on Ebay as retrostudio if you'd like to see my history there.

Never used. Shrink wrap removed and the box has been opened twice. I bought this a few years ago when it was still in shrink wrap stupidly thinking it was PCIe and compatible with my modern Mac. This is an older version which is only PCI/PCI-X compatible. If you don't have old school PCI (PCI-X) slots this WILL NOT WORK. (I want to say the last compatible Mac version was probably a PowerPC G5...) More Windows machines will have this slot.

That said, these older cards are extremely rare and if you are running on a legacy system or have a PC with an available compatible slot - this could be a cheap and easy way to get a MADI system connected.

Knowing RME, even tho this stuff was originally for Windows XP/Vista/OSX, RME will have drivers available that work with your computer for this card. (I would check!) Their software has always been rock solid for me.

The HDSP MADI from RME is an inexpensive PCI Card card that features a MADI interface. The audio system is capable of transferring digital audio data directly into a computer, from any device equipped with a MADI interface. Installation is simple, even for the inexperienced user, thanks to the latest "plug and play" technology. 

MADI, a multi-channel audio interface, offers full support for 56 and 64 channels of 24-bit audio at a sample rate of up to 48kHz and 32 channels at up to 96kHz. Transmission is done via a single line, either coaxial with BNC plugs or with fiber cable. In both cases more than 100m cable length can be achieved.
