1981 Gibson ES 335 in the very rare for the time Ebony finish. The guitar is in very good condition for being nearly 45 years old. It's been played but well cared for. The black finish still shines along with the chrome hardware and the guitar shows really well. There are several scratches on the front and back , some light weather checks with no major nicks or dings on the body. The neck measures .81 at the first and .96 at the 12th fret. The nut is 1.69. The original frets show some wear on the first 5 frets along with divots in the rosewood but it does not effect the playing at all. It looks like most of the playing were chords done on the first few postions. The action is low and it plays perfect throughout the fingerboard. It has the original Tarback pickups that sound great. The coil tap allows you get get single coil tone in the neck and bridge positions if desired. The coil tap selector tip was cracked and glued at some point. Weighs 8lbs 5oz . The original case is in good condition but is missing hooks on two of the rear latches.
