Edition: Limited to 175 instruments in celebration of Martin’s 175 years (1833–2008) of guitar-making.
Body style: Dreadnought, 14-fret join.
Top: Solid Adirondack (red) spruce, with aging-toner finish, gloss.
Back & Sides: Solid Madagascar rosewood.
Binding & appointments: Solid Hawaiian koa binding; fine herringbone top inlay; abalone/mother-of-pearl long-pattern diamond & square fretboard inlays.
Neck & fingerboard: Select hardwood neck in a “Modified V” profile; scale length ~ 25.4″; ebony fingerboard.
Headplate / Logo: Ebony headplate with mother-of-pearl script “Martin & Co / 1833-2008 / America’s Guitar”.
Bridge: 1930’s style “belly” ebony bridge with drop-in long saddle; bone bridge pins with black dots.
Tuners: Waverly nickel with butter-bean buttons.
Case: Original deluxe Martin hard shell, embroidered “175th Anniversary” banner on the lid.
Description
An authorized Martin dealer performed a complete setup and replaced the strings in November 2023. It has not been played since, which is why I am selling it. I apologize for the reflections in the photos (I am not a good photographer).
This is the best sounding guitar I have ever heard and embodies what Martin refers to as a “Golden Era” construction aesthetic—forward-shifted X-bracing, premium tonewoods and build quality—delivering a rich, mature voice with strong low end, clear trebles and excellent projection and responsiveness.
Given the rarity of only 175 made, this model is not just a superb instrument—it’s a collectible piece. It’s equally suited for serious players who demand top-tier tonal performance and for collectors valuing craftsmanship and limited edition provenance.
