Each unit of this versatile mic splitter offers eight channels of mic level splitting circuitry, all housed within a single rack space unit with a depth of 7.5 inches, including the tie bar. It features one direct and two isolated outputs per channel, allowing for efficient distribution of audio signals to multiple destinations.
The Whirlwind SPC83PX is built with a Whirlwind transformer used throughout, ensuring reliable and consistent performance. All connections are made via removable Phoenix style connectors. A legend on the rear of the unit guides you in making proper balanced connections.
The "ISO" outputs of this professional mic splitter are designed not to pass phantom power, ensuring the "DIRECT OUT" is connected to the source of phantom power when not providing power at the splitter. The unit features rear terminal connections for injecting phantom power at the splitter with the optional Whirlwind DCSP1 external phantom power supply.
Phantom power is effectively blocked from the splitter's outputs, including the direct out, ensuring a clean, balanced signal. A unique loop-through feature on the phantom connection allows a single DCSP1 to provide phantom power to multiple units, limited only by a total current draw of up to 500mA.
Each ISO output is equipped with a set of dipswitches for lifting the ground connection between the input and output. This feature can help reduce or eliminate problems with hum or buzz, enhancing your audio experience.
