The OD-9 is the Japanese version of the TS9, featuring the popular "JRC4558D/Glossy" finish!
It adds rich harmonics and pleasant compression without distorting the original sound. Its exquisitely wide sound range, centered around the mids, has established it as a standard booster for tube amps since the SRV era. The OD-9 is the Japanese version of the "Ibanez TS9 Tube Screamer." The case casting shape differs between the early 1981-82 model and the later 1983-84 model. The back label was black until mid-1982, but later changed to white (silver). The op-amps used also changed over time, from Japan Radio's JRC2043DD to JRC4558D to Toshiba's TA75558P. Compared to its predecessor, the TS808 (JRC4558D), the OD-9 features revised tone constants, extending both the high and low ends, with particularly rich low frequencies, resulting in a punchy, clear sound. This unit was manufactured around 1984.
