Here we have a rare and very cool find. An original 1964 Fender Stratocaster rosewood board neck.
The neck is neck stamped Feb 64B and has it's original single line nickel Kluson Deluxe machine heads in superb condition with no issues. The rich Brazilian rosewood board has very minimal slight wear in the first few positions with a lot of grain in that rosewood. There is one 'very' small dent in the board half way up with the clay dots being just perfect. The original frets appear evenly worn with no signs of pitting but were more than likely dressed at some point. There is still enough fret left to last for quite a while. The back of the neck is 'very' clean with the usual light honest wear through the finish.
Overall a real nice hunk of Fender Stratocaster neck that feels just fantastic!
Ok, so here is the story you are waiting for. We here at Gordy's Music deal with, know, and have met a lot of artists-musicians in the big leagues of the music industry. Our walls are covered with autographs, pictures, stories, from over 40 years of serving mostly guitarists of all levels of the business. So my dear friend of over 40 years who I have been wheeling and dealing with has been guitar teckin'-stage-road-managing for too long a list of big stars to print. He is on the road right now in fact with a major artist for the next week. Let's call him Billy.
The story goes that Mick Mars of Motley Crue, gave him a sunburst 1964' Stratocaster back in 1990 as a bonus. Billy whom I sell a lot of gear for, just held on to it as a treasure. So he has decided to downsize his collection and turns out the 64' Strat had some routing issues and a few wrong parts-case-etc. So for right now we are just selling this super 64' Strat neck. Billy worked with Mick and the boys for almost their 4 decade long run until Mick had to retire in 2022.
I am not really into parting out guitars but once in a while it has to be done. In fact, I buy all kind of vintage parts for many restorations of which our shop has 6-7 of them in the works right now. I have been doing this for 40 years now on and off. There will be more of these vintage Strat parts available down the road in the near future.
Neck weighs 1 lb. 7 oz.
Shipping box weighs 4 lbs.
Shipping box is 5"x5"x32".
I will refund any overcharge in the high shipping fee from the high cost of insurance.

NOTE: Too cool. We just shipped very recently in the last few months a 1967 MapleGlo Rickenbacker 6-12 Converter 'comb' guitar to Billy Corigan of Smashing Pumpkins! We also then shipped a vintage 50 watt Marshall head to L.A. studio-touring guitarist extraodinaire, Michael Landau, and 2 vintage guitars to Jack White's organization down in Nashville just a few days before his 50th. birthday! mmm? Add 'The Kentucky Head Hunters' to the list, just sold Greg a cool little 50's Valco tube combo amp!
Gordy's Music has become a Detroit institution! Our shop was used as a filming location for a few films like "Miracle in Motor City" a Christmas movie on Lifetime (featuring Smoky Robinson). We've supplied gear for movies including "Bill & Ted Face The Music" with Keanu Reeves. We've got decades of celebrity customers, including recent visits from Beck, Eric Johnson, and we recently sold Billy Joel's bassist a cool Gibson SG he is in love with. One day a while back Andre 3000 and his group stopped in to browse as they were playing Masonic Temple that night and right after that we sold an old oil can Morley Wah Vibrato pedal to Credence Clearwater Revival's thee John Fogerty!
We are having and have had a lot of fun here at Gordy's Music! I was just remembering about 35 years ago a tour bus pulled up to our little shop, and who rolls right in and hangs out for an hour? Lenny Kravitz and his entire group, right about the same time I was selling many guitars to and chauffeuring around Dee Dee Ramone who had an apartment a block down from my house.
