Description
Exceptionally Rare 1966 Stratocaster Reissue with Bound Neck
This stunning Fender Custom Shop 1966 Stratocaster NOS in Daphne Blue is a truly special instrument that stands out from standard Custom Shop offerings. Built by the Fender Custom Shop team around 2012, this guitar combines two highly sought-after features that make it exceptionally rare and collectible.
What Makes This Guitar Special:
🎸 RARE BOUND NECK - One of the rarest features ever offered on a Stratocaster. Neck binding was only advertised in the 1966-67 Fender catalog for one year and was executed on very few instruments. Even among Custom Shop reissues, a bound neck Stratocaster is extremely uncommon and commands a significant premium.
🎨 DAPHNE BLUE CUSTOM COLOR - One of Fender’s most desirable and iconic custom colors. This beautiful, vintage-correct shade of blue is timeless and highly sought after by collectors and players alike.
✨ NOS FINISH - New Old Stock finish means this guitar looks like it was built in 1966 and stored unplayed. Thin nitrocellulose lacquer that will age beautifully over time, with no artificial relicing.

All original parts, fully functional electronics, and plays beautifully with excellent action and intonation.
Cosmetics / Aging as intended for a NOS model:
One small chip in the lacquer at the neck pocket – a common occurrence on Fender guitars.
One tiny impression on the upper curvature / armrest area (see photos); the lacquer remains fully intact.
Why This Guitar is Worth It:
Bound neck Stratocasters from 1966 are among the rarest vintage Fenders, with only a handful known to exist. Even in the Custom Shop world, this feature is uncommon. Combined with the highly desirable Daphne Blue finish, this guitar offers a unique opportunity to own something truly special that stands apart from standard Custom Shop offerings.
