A true 1965 treasure: a rare factory Black Fender Stratocaster!

This instrument is completely original and genuine with no modifications, repairs, or changed parts, with just one exception: a recent, professional refret. The original frets were carefully removed and are saved in the case pocket.

The neck features a stunning grained Rosewood fingerboard over a maple neck, with its original finish showing light, honest playwear. The decals, tuners, and bone nut are pristine. 

The body has a rare factory Black finish over a fully painted Charcoal Frost Metallic finish. Fender painted custom-colored bodies in batches to fulfill orders, but those that were not in huge demand were often factory over-colored with a more requested finish before being shipped to Fender Sales. This is one such example. The visible "nail hole" confirms the body's initial manufacture in late 1964 or early 1965, placing it right when the newer Charcoal Frost color was added to Fender's Custom Color Chart.

This is one of those rare guitars, which was ultimately completed and shipped in late 1965, as confirmed by the original neck date and pot codes.
