1979 Peavey T40 Natural
I’ve just got this 1979 Peavey T40 Natural in p/x, and it’s one of the best I’ve ever had.
Obviously hasn’t been used much.
The truss rod nut and the wood surrounding it is perfect. You need a special thin wall truss rod spanner to get over the nut as it’s quite tight on space in there. Quite often there are signs that someone has tried to adjust the truss rod with a socket that’s too big, which results in damage to the surrounding wood at best, or splitting the fretboard at worst – not on this one.
Frets are perfect, the pickguard and pick up rings are all in great condition and the electrics work perfectly and are all quiet. The wiring is untouched and as it left the factory. There is a little wear on the plastic parts of the bridge pick-up. (The pick up rings commonly break and crack – these are all fine)
There is a small sticker on the back of the headstock (Soundwave in Romford, Essex) it’s in great condition, looks like it was stuck on yesterday – a nice link to its past.
There are a couple of scuffs on the body and a few small blemishes on the back of the neck, but these are all very minor and not of any concern.
The only negative is that it doesn’t have its original case (but does have a good semi rigid case)
If you were thinking of getting a T40 to add to your collection then I don’t think you’d find a better one.
