Description:
The AN-60 is a dedicated 2-channel noise‐reduction unit built by TEAC in the early 1970s. Its purpose: to apply the patented Dolby Laboratories noise reduction (Dolby B or similar) to analogue tape recordings (open-reel or cassette) to reduce tape hiss, especially at slow speeds or during dubbing.
In short: it sits between your recorder and playback or between dubbing machines and applies noise reduction processing to improve Signal-to-Noise ratio and reduce audible tape noise.
