The newly released 620 SM LC introduces a fresh chapter in Collings’ electric lineup, blending classic form with a livelier, more expressive voice. Built with precision in Austin, Texas, this hollowbody model captures the immediacy, touch sensitivity, and resonance that players love in Collings electrics. In every setting, the 620 SM LC remains resonant, balanced, articulate, and deeply responsive to dynamics.

Constructed of Collings' proprietary laminated maple body, the 620 SM LC is fully hollow with a trestle brace design that maximizes resonance while taming output at high volumes. Because of the design, it captures a wide dynamic range with natural sustain and warmth, but the thinline approach and dense laminate Maple top and back ensure clarity and punch. Outfitted with Righteous Sound Diadem pickups, the 620 SM LC sings with a rich, open tone that handles everything from detailed cleans to overdriven, saturated tones with ease. From there, a solid Flame Maple neck, 24-7/8" scale length, and Ebony fingerboard deliver a refined playing experience, and then the Bigsby tailpiece adds an additional range of expression. 

Finished in Faded Cherry, this 620 SM LC (serial #620SMLC25032) shows off stunning Flame Maple figure—all with elegant lines and subtle vintage cues.  Every element—from fretwork to hardware fit—is executed with the precision and uncompromising attention to detail that define the Collings brand. We love the Davies Radio knobs, too—such a tasteful detail. It has a pinned Ebony bridge, but interestingly the Tune-O-Matic has Nylon saddles, a nod to the mid '60s.

We first saw the 620 SM LC unveiled at NAMM earlier this year and jumped on the chance to secure one early. This is the first one we've seen in Telluride, and it's a standout new voice in the Collings family. An impressive guitar from an impressive builder that only gets better and better!
