This is a set of the 5 most popular and commonly used radius sanding blocks.   This set comes with a 7.25", 9.5", 10", 12" and 16" radius sanding side and are 8" in length.

These fingerboard radius sanding blocks are 3D printed from PLA plastic making them durable, comfortable to use, lightweight and accurate. The major benefit of printed PLA blocks is stability.  Old style wooden blocks can twist or warp in humidity changes where PLA plastic stays straight.  We offer these in multiple different radius curves to match most common fingerboard radius sizes used in modern lutherie.   To use, just attach a piece of self stick sandpaper to the radius side and sand along the length of the fingerboard.  With fine sandpaper, they can also be used for the initial fret leveling process.   The handle is 3 1/2" wide, sanding side is 3 1/4" wide and is ~1 1/2" tall.  These can be used to produce a compound radius also.  When working on compound radius fretboards, simply change blocks as you progress along the neck.
As a long time guitar builder, I have found the old style wood radius blocks to be uncomfortable to use and heavy which really can fatigue your arm over a long sanding session.  With the weight reduction and the nice curved hand hold, I find these be a lot nicer to use.  And let's face it, no luthier likes to sand fingerboards (or the rest of a guitar for that matter)!  Anything to make the process more pleasant is a welcome thing.
