I am offering a PRS 30th Anniversary Wood Library Custom 24 10-Top from 2015, a handcrafted in Stevensville, Maryland (USA), luxury version of the Custom 24 as a Wood Library anniversary edition with a hand-selected mahogany body (weighing only 3.63kg in total!), extraordinary 10-Top flamed maple top, set-in East Indian “Artist Grade” rosewood neck (!) with satin finish and pattern thin neck profile, bound rosewood fingerboard with 30th Anniversary Birds mother-of-pearl inlays, two versatile Kloppmann HB 57 humbucker pickups (upgrade!), hand-wired Kloppmann electronics with Bumble Bee capacitors (upgrade!), high-quality PRS USA tremolo bridge and PRS Phase III locking tuners in a beautiful black gold high-gloss finish with gold hardware in mint condition, including black luxury hardshell case, manufacturer's papers and professional setup with 10-gauge Elixir strings.
This PRS Wood Library option, manufactured to mark the 30th anniversary of the Custom 24, is a dream instrument in every respect: perfect workmanship, breathtaking looks, outstanding playability, and a distinctive sound characterize this guitar.
The basis is formed by selected woods from the PRS Wood Library program. Similar to the Private Stock category, models can be individually configured here, independent of the wood combination that is standard for a particular model.
This Custom 24 comes with a hand-selected mahogany body, which remains a lightweight at 3.63kg. Combined with a richly grained 10-top flamed maple top, which is perfectly showcased by the striking Black Gold high-gloss finish, and a set-in Indian rosewood neck in “Artist Grade” quality, the guitar offers a welcome visual and tonal change from standard mahogany, giving the guitar great acoustic resonance and an extremely warm, earthy tone when amplified.
When plugged into an amp, the Kloppmann HB57 PAF humbuckers with gold covers, professionally upgraded by Andreas Kloppmann himself, showcase their melodic, singing sound qualities with plenty of overtones and vintage drive. The dynamic articulation of the pickups invites expressive playing, while the sound can be finely tuned via the hand-wired Kloppmann electronics with old stock Spague Bumble Bee capacitors and selected CTS pots.
The playing experience is simply delightful thanks to the elegant rosewood neck with a satin finish, pattern thin profile, and 42.9mm nut width.
