This Gibson Moderne XL plays and sounds great! Originally designed in the 1950's, the Gibson Moderne was ahead of its time and very rare to come by. The light weight body is sort of a cross between a Flying V and Explorer in shape and the neck has a pretty slim profile. The body and neck are comprised of solid mahogany and the fretboard is constructed from granadillo.   

This guitar does show some cosmetic wear from over the years that includes various surface scratches, scuffs, and dents throughout the body with additional small dings along the back of the neck and headstock. There's also some finish wear present on both sides of the headstock from where there might have been an adhesive at one point in time. The gold hardware also shows normal tarnishing from over time. The frets are used but still play great and the electronics work as they should.

Both of the volume pots have been replaced and it appears that a Gibson 498T bridge Humbucker has been installed in place of the original '57 Classic. This guitar otherwise appears to be original.
