From what I can tell using black light, inspecting the routs and simple logic, this FB V left the factory finished in black. There was a headstock crack (see photo) that was repaired decades ago and the back of the headstock and the area of the break was resprayed in black. That obscured the serial number, so I believe a subsequent owner scraped away the finish to reveal it. I will post blacklight photos. A custom color Firebird V is extremely rare. I had a red one for sale for $90K. Conventional wisdom says a headstock repair knocks off 40% but the condition of this one is not up to the standard of the red one. This one is all original but black paint never ages well and it has knocks and dings and scratches. Case is excellent 4 latch.
