Into the 1970’s, Gibson had changed a number of things about their “solid guitars”, partially thanks to the reintroduction of the Les Paul as the flagship electric in their lineup.
The reduction of the nut width to 1 9/16ths, a fascinatingly skinny neck, along with removing the binding from the neck, changing the trapezoid inlays to blocks, and changing the bridge to the much maligned “Harmonica” bridge, were the majority of the structural changes made.
These SGs are still a heck of a lot of fun, however, and if you’re looking for a great vintage Gibson, this is the one!
All original except for the tuners, lots of play wear on the back but the front is relatively clean.
