This Very Nice one-owner 1960 Gibson Les Paul Junior!❤️
Per the son of the owner, it was primarily only played at home or church.
This guitar is All Original, with very few (very minor) exceptions (explained below). Many would post this guitar as ‘excellent’, but we are conservatively calling it Very Good Plus.
This guitar has been very well cared for. It has retained its deep red cherry color and has practically no finish checking due to the great care of the owner. Everything ‘black lights’ as original.
All components are fully functional;
Original P-90 with unbroken solder (sounds fantastic). Original pots & caps with unbroken solder (gotta love the pots’ taper). Original lightweight wrap-over tailpiece/bridge. Original pickguard (see photo for scratches). Original tuners, jack and jack plate.
Original frets (light wear), original dot fret markers, original nut, original truss rod cover (truss turns easily). Only a few minor finish nicks, less than usual for a guitar of this age. Almost no buckle rash.
Neck is what I’d call a V2 1960 neck; not 50s chunky but not super slim either. Serial No. 0 9226.
With our fresh pro setup, this guitar plays & Sounds Great. The original electronics are surprisingly flexible, from traditional jazz (just roll the tone down a bit), to twang, to all-out Raw Rock. This guitar sounds great strummed ‘acoustic style’ and of course playing single notes. It’s very balanced, with each string Individually audible even during overdriven power chords.
Non-original; There are two small screw holes beside end strap button where a Gretsch tailpiece was once installed. Only other non-original components are the two tiny set-screws in the original wrap over tailpiece/bridge.
Original Case! The original ‘alligator’ case is pretty Cool. Handle is missing (typical). But all latches & hinges work fine. The case top has been painted (good job) a light blue and an old Alfred E. Neuman sticker, so we’ve nicknamed the guitar Alfred.😎
