WalkMan - Cassette - 80's - In the days school mates gave each other mix tapes of their favorites they had created for each other - Play Cassettes! - Hi-Fi Stereo - Original in great condition with carry pouch and neck strap - or carry it on your belt! (cut-outs for that at the back of the case) - How much more 80s can it get? Duran Duran!

Made in Japan this Panasonic Cassette Player is basic but has great Hi-Fi stereo sound

Features: Stereo, Play, Stop, Pause, Rewind, Fast Forwind, Tape EQ switch: L (Nor), H,
Metal, Auto Stop, Operation LED, Volume Control, 3.5 mm Head Phone Jack, DC power jack DC 3V IN

Lot: Walk Man, Carry Case And: I found a pair of open ear head phones such as used at the time which I will throw in for free!

Condition: Working: Tested, working great, great sound - clear and consistent highs (good heads! - low mileage little use) - winding in good and strong - however motor running noise in the audio that is most noticeable in quiet music passages - as found: I can see if that can be improved at additional cost - Physical Condition: Good to Excellent - light signs of use, such as fine scratches, dulling, dis-coloration etc, battery compartment clean

QUESTION: - How well does it work and will it last?

Answer: I want to convey to you that this walk man, like any piece of vintage gear made in the 1980's today is more than 40 years old - Parts used in this unit have a maximum life expectancy of typically 20-25 or at the very maximum 35 years - IF the goal is to have a reliably working unit one would have to invest into completely refurbishing it - which takes hours and hours of work time plus parts - or translates to a price starting in the $350 range, likely being in the $450-$575 range to be more realistic for a complete job - So: If looking for a unit that is perfect and reliable I can refurbish it for you at the above price range. Having said what I said: this unit is still in relatively good condition, as it in it's original condition still works. No, it does not eat tapes in it's current condition and yes the motor noise may be annoying at quiet passages of music, but further problems are likely to develop, if one keeps using it in unrefurbished condition due to it's age - It takes AA batteries if I remember correctly - Does that answer your question? -> If not, I will be glad to address your concerns or further discuss the above!

Purchase Agreement - All Sales are: "AS-IS”, FINAL - and: not returnable: LET’s do all that is needed to make sure to get you exactly what you need - BEFORE your purchase (Not returnable)! PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS - I am here to assist. All items are used and VINTAGE - sold "AS-IS" (-> vintage = often 50 years old!!!) and even with the best of refurb / repair work STILL CAN FAIL) and thus is sold without warranty or guarantees of any kind (AS-IS). I aim to perform all work that I foresee necessary, to provide equipment in well and reliably working condition - refurbish in as much detail as possible - and test thoroughly, to gain confidence through testing, to predict that it will last, but once work complete, it is still possible that something can go or be wrong with it (vintage) - Prices of items offered here reflect the work that went into a given piece of gear until it is listed, but cannot cover what a given piece may need in the future - that would be at your risk and expense - If there are defects, problems or shortcomings: likely I can repair, but it will be at additional cost - I do service what I sell at my regular shop rate. Any shipping costs responsibility of the buyer.
