Fodera 35th Anniversary Monarch 4 Deluxe 2018

Near mint: If not for a finish checking due to natural aging (just like these old Martin guitars for which the more the finish checking, the pricier), this instrument would be in mint condition.

The checking is described in a photo near the nut on the G string side. The orientation of the mark is completely unrelated to the wood gran confirming it is only superficial and confined to the finish.

No fret wear to be noted (see photo).

A little bit of patina where the right hand interact with the body, but no scratch.

This instrument has been kept most of its life in its case in a room with humidity control along with other acoustic guitars and a solid back & side upright bass. As proof you will smell the same scent when opening the case as if you received it fresh from Fodera.

This limited run 35th Anniversary Monarch 4 Deluxe combines classic Fodera tone and looks with modern electronics and playability. For this bass we’ve chosen an early Fodera wood combination of a Mahogany body, Quilted Maple top, and Pau Ferro fingerboard. In the early days of Fodera, Vinny chose this combination for its ability to capture warm lows and have the articulation needed to provide a broad range of tone for bass players stepping out into more and more solo work at the time. To replicate the look of our original oil-finished instruments we’ve stained the instrument to match the golden hues of a well played oil-finished instrument while still utilizing our satin acrylic finish known for its breathability and durability. Finally, we’ve matched that with our latest preamp and proprietary Fodera / Duncan Dual Coil pickups, and utilized our dovetail neck joint found on early Fodera instruments like Victor Wooten’s 87 Monarch.
