What is a Baretop Guitar?

It is a guitar that I completely re-voice by stripping down the top to bare wood, and by adjusting the internal structure to create the best sound possible. I then hand rub a light satin finish on the top. The results are truly amazing. The guitar is transformed from a good sounding guitar to a Great sounding guitar. Other Modifications

I have installed a Zeroglide Nut for perfect string action at the nut and no string friction(drag), a Tusq Saddle, and Tusq Bridge Pins for maximum tone and sustain.

I have installed a JDL Bridge system to give the guitar top extra stability. It also allows for adjusting the string action height by moving the top up or down based on the tightness of the set screw. Another great plus to this system is the ability to change to tone of the guitar as well, quite amazing. It is something I install on all my guitars, and highly recommend.

The Sound

As far as the finished sound is concerned - I would describe it as definite powerhouse dreadnought, that has wonderful clarity and sustain. With the re-voiced top, fingerstyle playing is also easy with a only a light touch on the strings.

This is a B-Stock guitar due to a couple of flaws shown in photo.

There is a cut that has been repaired in the soundhole, and a dent on the top, next to the neck.
