Gibson ES-335TDC Model Semi-Hollow Body Electric Guitar (1968), made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, serial # 525420, cherry lacquer finish, laminated maple body, mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard, original black hard shell case.

This is a very nice late 1960s ES-335TDC in a well-preserved deep cherry red finish, the classic look of this period. The instrument's features are typical for 1968 with chrome-plated hardware including the Tune-O-Matic bridge, trapeze tailpiece, and two Gibson humbucking pickups with patent number sticker on the bases. Other typical features include enclosed Kluson Deluxe tuners with double-ring plastic buttons and the "Witch Hat" amp-style black molded knobs.

The bound rosewood fingerboard has pearloid block inlay and the nut width is the narrow just-over 1 1/2" width common to this period. The neck is slim but gets a bit chunkier back-to-front as it approaches the body. It shows some light play time but is still very well-preserved for its 55+ years on the planet, overall a great-looking and sounding example.

Overall length is 41 1/2 in. (105.4 cm.), 15 7/8 in. (40.3 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 3/4 in. (4.4 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 17/32 in. (39 mm.).

This is relatively clean example with just some minor wear overall. The finish shows typical checking with some small dings and dents scattered around. There was a Bigsby fitted at some point but the guitar has been restored with the original tailpiece, leaving a few small mars visible to the top finish and extra screw holes in the rim just under the tailpiece flange. All hardware is original except for correct repro strap buttons; the chrome plating is clean with only light wear. The original frets have been polished out a bit flatter than original spec. with no subsequent wear. This is simply a very nice example of a late '60s ES-335, complete in its original yellow-lined case with the original matching hang tags still in the pocket. Overall Excellent - Condition.
