The PRS Special Semi-Hollow offers a versatile HSH configuration with two 58/15 LT humbuckers and a PRS Narrowfield in the middle. The PRS Narrowfield PU has the bite of a single coil, allowing it to cut through the band mix clearly and concisely – but without the typical SC hum. With a 5-way switch and two mini switches, a total of 12 pickup combinations can be selected, covering a seemingly endless range of sounds and styles. With the tone pot turned back, the dark side comes to the fore; back in the normal position, the sound clears up with an enchanting sparkle – either way, it's great fun to explore this sound palette extensively.

The specs include a flamed maple top, mahogany body, the familiar 635 scale length with rosewood fingerboard, Phase III locking tuners and PRS Gen III trem. The volume levels of the pickups are perfectly balanced, and the semi-acoustic body brings an airy, light sound to the mix.
