Offered here is a traditional Chinese yueqin (月琴), also known as a moon lute, a four-string plucked instrument used in Chinese folk music, opera, and ensemble playing for centuries.

While most yueqin instruments are perfectly round, this example features a teardrop / pear-shaped body variant, commonly seen on export and student models, giving it a distinctive look while retaining the traditional tonal character.
