Tighten up your tone with The Shakes, a dynamic sub preamp pedal designed to shake walls and add serious depth to your sound. Perfect for bass and guitar, The Shakes enhances your low-end without muddying up your signal. Whether you're laying down thunderous bass riffs or adding serious weight to your guitar tone, your sound remains crisp and articulate even with the added low-end muscle. Stack The Shakes after your overdrive, fuzz, or distortion pedals, or throw it in your effects loop for extra punch and boost to your amp.
Knob and Switch Descriptions:
TONE – Turn counterclockwise for more warmth and low end. Turn clockwise for more clarity and high end.
LEVEL – Controls the output volume
GIRTH - Toggle up for wall-shaking sub frequencies
NOTE: For anyone looking to use a standard guitar to emulate a bass in a live setup, use a polyphonic octave down pedal (like a Sub N Up) and then put The Shakes AFTER it. This will help you get more sub frequencies out of a standard guitar. Just running a guitar straight into this pedal will not give you the same kind of sub effect that using a bass or an octave down pedal will produce. I've tested this pedal in a live setting with a drummer. I split my signal - one to a guitar amp and one to a bass amp. I put The Shakes after a Sub N Up set to the poly setting, and I was able to produce the sub frequencies I was unable to attain with just an octave down pedal going into a bass amp.
Or just plug a bass into this pedal into a bass amp and rattle your teeth loose.
This pedal has true bypass switching and requires a 9 volt DC power supply with a 2.1mm negative center barrel (not included).
Current draw: 3 mA
