Pine Electronics (Pineco) Model 207 1x15 Amp w/ Tremolo

Killer 1960s Pine Electronics Model 207 1x15 Bass Amp with tremolo. Made in Montreal, Canada by Pineco who based most of their amps on Fender Champs and small Supro combos. This plays and sounds like a loud 5 watt Champ with the original smooth cone AlNiCo 15” speaker providing more headroom but still adding its own grit as you push the volume. Takes pedals wonderfully.

Tubes are original: 6V6 with 5Y3 rectifier, 12ax7, and two 6av6s. All tubes test good. I will include replacement/backup NOS 6V6, 5Y3, 6av6s if purchased at asking price. Rare amp that really sounds classic with sweet breakup. A copy of the schematic is included.

Local amp guru fully serviced the amp this summer and shored up the seriously roadworn cabinet as well. Tremolo circuit was missing a component and so was repaired. Super strong, great sounding tremolo now with speed control only. Cabinet plywood panels that were suffering from delamination were repaired carefully with a reduced wood glue solution and bar clamping. Also, the plywood back panel rails that the screws go into were water damaged and delaminating, so three new pine rails were installed. The power cord was replaced with a chassis-grounded, three-prong cord. And the speaker jack was redone properly so that if you accidentally turn on the amp with no speaker plugged in, it won‘t arc into a firestorm. It is an 8 ohm tap, so you can plug in an 8 ohm extension cab if you want. Finally, a light coat of poly was applied to cab to seal the bare wood and the remaining covering and to prevent any new water damage. It‘s very sturdy now and ready for action.
