This “Crafted in Japan” Stratocaster is an uncommon, upscale model, designed for the Japanese domestic market and rarely seen outside its country of origin. Features include a factory-installed set of Fender’s USA-made Texas Special pickups and vintage accurate touches including a large 70s-style headstock, three-bolt neck plate, and block saddles.

Weighing 8lbs 5oz, tonewoods include an ash body and one-piece maple neck. Fender’s Texas Special single coils match vintage spec with black fiber bobbins, cloth-covered leads and staggered alnico magnets, delivering a bevy of sparkling classic Strat tonalities with a slightly aggressive overwound snap. The bridge pickup is bold and chewy and the neck has a full, bell-like quality. This ST71-85TX Stratocaster has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
