Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome.

You are looking at a unique and massive early Olson D-219 model dynamic cardioid microphone made during the 1960's with strong modern midcentury vibes. This mic was a more sophisticated design than the standard dynamic version and has the period lower pistol grip with the on / off switch. This mic comes with the newer 1980's era cast iron desk stand in which to display.

It should be noted that while this microphone does still work, the output is low. probably around 40% and cannot really be used for the purposes in which is was designed. Because of the amazing physical condition this will make an excellent display, prop or repair purposes.

There is is a ton of room inside the mic for any modern or older dynamic cardioid element. A Shure 545, 565 or SM57 cartridge would fit nicely in this mic if you wanted it to be an excellent working mic for stage work. The mic is wired properly so it's just a matter of making the swap.

This Olson M-219 has an aggressive black on chrome scheme and again, quite large. There is a just the smallest of wear on the mic.

The front chrome grill looks very nice and free of any wear. The Olson label is pretty nice too with a functioning on / off switch. The painted upper tube looks amazing. The lower chrome pistol grip has very tiny pitting. and the joint mechanism works perfectly. It allows you to screw this mic onto any stand though a stand is already provided. Total height with mic and stand is appx 9 inches.

This mic is an easy 9 on a scale of 1 - 10 in the looks department and will do any collector of vintage mics justice.

The stand is a newer Chinese model from the 1980's and is an exact copy of the Atlas DS-5 model. It has the original black paint cast iron base and 4 inch chrome riser. The stand looks perfect and has the 3 rubber pads on the bottom. It compliments the Olson mic nicely and makes for a very stable platform.

Total height with mic and stand with mic raised upright is appx 14 inches tall X 6 inches wide but the mic can be lowered to just 9 inches if needed.

As with all my vintage microphones...
