Buescher True Tone alto 1929 series IV
From what I’ve learned online, this model is said to be one of the better Buescher designs. The serial number (253388) indicates that it’s a 1929 series IV.
This is being sold AS IS because I’m not a sax player and don’t know enough about the instrument to test drive it. I inherited it many decades ago and tried to play it briefly, but it wasn't my thing. I recently cleaned it up. I had plans to overhaul it via YouTube guidance, but decided that it’s more work than I have time for. It has not been played for over 30 years.
Everything appears to be in pretty good shape with some exceptions. The body of the horn is silver and the inside is gold (see pics). Many of the pads seem worn out and some of the springs seem to be slow. I don’t know enough about the cork to comment.
*Included is a new set of pads, a new mouthpiece, a box of 10 reeds, and the original mouthpiece cover.
The case is like new and very sturdy. I recently bought the case to replace the original case which was falling apart and beyond repair.
I plan to list it only for a while as I research what it would take to restore it to its best condition. In other words, if you're interested, buy it quickly before I remove the listing.
