The Looping ADSR Envelope Generator from AI Synthesis is a Eurorack-compatible take on a classic design from the Electro-Music.com forums (with permission from original creator Nicholas of Christchurch, NZ) with some additional tweaks made by Dave Brown. It can be run as a gated/triggered ADSR 4-stage envelope generator or as a looping Attack-Release envelope with exponential slopes. Additional features include a retrigger input and a button for triggering by hand.
The module actually has quite a few modes of operation, most of which depend on whether a patch cable is plugged into the Gate input. For example, when in looping mode but with no cable plugged in, the envelope will continuously loop; if a cable IS plugged into the Gate input, the module will loop only while there’s a HIGH gate present. Compared to the Erica Envelope Generator, which features relatively short Attack times and longer Decay/Release times, this AI Synthesis envelope has relatively longer Attack times and shorter Release times, with longer cycle times possible overall. The longer Attack stage allows for a wider variety of basic waveform types (sawtooth, triangle, ramp, etc.) to be generated in looping modes, which is useful for modulating certain types of parameters.
