Up for sale is a 1994 Gibson Explorer ‘76 vintage reissue in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. What makes this guitar so special is it was produced during Gibson's bicentennial year and has a specialized serial number starting with "94". What's also a standout is that this is a lighter "good-wood" example weighing in at just 7lbs 13 oz. On top of the weight, the neck is extra slim with .75 in at the first fret and .83 in at the twelfth fret: Now that's a fast neck.

I hate to part with it, as I'll probably never run into another '94 this good, but must make room for future endeavors. The original Gibson USA/TKL case smelled weird and had to go, but I've upgraded to a much cooler-looking and better TKL case. Other than that, this guitar is clean, with just a few dings/scratches here and there (see photos). Included is the original owner's sales receipt (dated 12/24/94), hang tags from '94, and original Pre-pack checklist.

I contacted Gibson a few years ago and this guitar shipped out from the factory March 2nd, 1994. Other than that, I'm not sure when exactly it was produced. The pots have solder covering up the date code section (not the 70035A section), but combining information from all 3 pots, I believe the pots are "1379345", which would be from November of 1993.

The guitar is dialed in for .009-.042 strings with super low action. It plays smoothly, rings like a bell, and packs a punch when plugged in.
