It's the two pickup version with passive pickups. serial number 0056 / manufactured by Steinberger sound; 148 Sullivan st, Brooklyn NY 11231.1981 / Steinberger bass neck featured a unique carbon and glass fiber construction with no truss rod, a headless design for increased stability.
Neck and fingerboard
Construction: The neck and body were molded as a single, monocoque unit. This "neck-through" design was central to the L2H's unique tonal characteristics and stability.
Material: The neck is made of a proprietary, highly rigid carbon- and glass-fiber reinforced epoxy resin. This construction made the bass immune to warping and changes caused by humidity or temperature shifts.
Fingerboard: The fingerboard is made of a phenolic resin composite, sometimes referred to as a high-pressure laminate.
