1971 Jose Ramirez 1A "Segovia" model Classical Guitar
Brazilian Rosewood back and sides
Cedar top 664 mm neck
54mm nut width
5mm, 3mm action Low E to High E
Black Ebony fingerboard
Shows some wear but overall cosmetically well kept.
Comes with hard shell Ramirez case
Tap plate
Has that classic Ramirez tone that is loved so dearly in his guitars.
I had German Vasquez Rubio, creator of the Coco guitar model, restore a couple minor outer hairline lacquer cracks on the back. He also put on a tap plate.
This guitar is not hard to play, though it is longer and slightly wider, it is comfortable and versatile. I've played dense Bach arrangements, Assad, and flamenco on this guitar with more ease than one of my shorter scale length guitars.
I've read the history of Brenner's use of the "Segovia" label to upcharge the sale of 1A and 2A guitars from Ramirez. This guitar is not a fake or a copy as many may speculate on the surface. The guitar is stamped with the number 6 inside the body which indicates it was built by Arturo Sanzano Moreno, a reputable builder of Ramirez's team. Without doubt it has the Ramirez sound and soul.
No rush to sell.
