Get yourself a piece of Fender's history with the Fender MIJ Hybrid Jazz Bass MN, Indigo. Built to recapture the tones and playing feel of a '75 Jazz Bass, the MIJ Hybrid Jazz Bass is equipped with classic appointments to give you that iconic Fender performance. Even its vintage-style pickups are designed to reproduce the tones that rocked the 70s. The Fender MIJ Jazz Bass is crafted from a lightweight alder body, providing you with a comfortable playing feel and that iconic Fender 'twang'. Its maple neck also sports a ''U'' profile, offering increased comfort and playability over the classic "C"-shaped neck. This is a guitar with quality in every department.

Fender 'Made in Japan'

The Made in Japan series from Fender introduces you to the craft and style of Fender Japan, providing you with one-off runs that embrace Fender's history. Fender Japan was first created back in 1982 to sell Fender guitars to the Japanese market. These were built in Japan to keep the price down to rival the Fender imitations that were being sold.

These Japanese productions were manufactured by FujiGen Gakki and marked as 'Made in Japan' (MIJ) until around 1992. It was then that production started moving to Tokai Gakki and Dyna Gakki, with these being marked as 'Crafted in Japan' (CIJ). It wasn't until 2015 when Fender itself took over the Japanese line, bringing you a whole new experience with classic designs in its 'Made in Japan' guitars.

A traditional neck with a comfortable design

Much like the Japanese made Jazz Bass' from the 60s, the 70's model also sported a comfortable U-shaped profile. Something that also started to make an appearance on its American made counterparts. This type of profile was ideal for small hands since it lets your thumb naturally rest closer to the edge of the neck, providing you with better reach across the fingerboard.

The fingerboard is also equipped with vintage-style frets, a slightly modern take on the original's vintage tall frets. Vintage tall frets were perfect if you favoured finger work and bends since it took less effort to press down the string and hear the note. The vintage-style frets enhance this design with modern comfort.

A high-quality vintage tone

To transport you back to the rocking tones of the 70s, the MIJ Traditional Jazz Bass is equipped with a set of Fender's vintage-style single-coil pickups. These inject the bass with a beautifully warm tone and plenty of mid-range thump, letting you add rich textures to your performance.

Both pickups feature alnico magnets, which are known for their low-end flavour and midrange scoop. They also feature independent volumes and a master tone control, letting you dial in the perfect sound for any environment. No matter what, these versatile pickups will suit anything you throw at it.

Classic bone nut

The additional bone nut not only adds to the Fender Jazz Bass’ stunning looks, it also enhances the tone's natural resonance and sustain. Bone is the perfect material for guitar nuts, featuring a long life and helping the overall tone remain balanced. This type of nut naturally self-lubricates, helping the guitar stay in tune for longer when compared to modern materials.

History of the Jazz Bass

Introduced in 1960, Fender welcomed a new decade by debuting a deluxe bass guitar, the Jazz Bass. Sleek and supercharged with dual pickups, a slim neck, and a curvaceous offset waist, the Jazz Bass has ruled the world of electric bass ever since Fender first introduced it. The versatile and unmistakable tone, effortless feel, and performance make the Jazz Bass the number-one choice for professional bassists worldwide.

Return Policy, Restocking Fees & No Tire-Kicking Policy

We follow Reverb’s 7-day return policy. However:

- You must notify us in writing within 3 days of delivery (per tracking) of your intent to return.

- Original shipping and return shipping costs are not refunded unless the guitar is damaged in transit or is significantly not as described.

A 15% restocking fee applies to all returns for any reason other than damage in transit or significantly not as described.

We record demo videos of every guitar before shipping to document exact condition and performance. Additional photos, measurements, or in-hand descriptions are available upon request prior to purchase.

Minor adjustments and tweaks to a set up (for example to correct a slight buzz or truss-rod tweak) are normal after shipping due to carrier mishandling the package, climate & atmospheric changes, especially when moving from South Florida to colder or less humid environments. These slight issues do not constitute “significantly not as described.” Guitars must be returned in the exact same condition as received/advertised or additional repair/restocking fees will apply.

We are a small business, not a big-chain retailer. We invest significant time and effort into every guitar. This is a NO TIRE-KICKING shop. There is no post purchase haggling or partial refunds. If minor cosmetic marks, tiny imperfections, or the possibility of a post-shipping setup tweak makes you uncomfortable, please do not buy. Plenty of large retailers offer free trials and can absorb shipping costs—we do not.

Payment, Shipping & International Duties

- All items can be shipped internationally. Buyer is fully responsible for all import duties, taxes, and customs fees.

- We accept PayPal, PayPal Credit, Affirm, and other major payment methods.

- Most U.S. shipments are sent via UPS or FedEx with full insurance, tracking, and signature confirmation. All packages are professionally packed for maximum protection.
