I know, right? There you are, just chilling in your man cave when you hear that familiar voice, seemingly out of nowhere:

"Hun, can you come downstairs? I want to show you something."

In your younger years, that kind of sentence might’ve meant you had some explaining to do. You know—like, why is there a scuba mask and a pair of size 2 Vicky’s in the front seat of your car? Not that kind of party today. The Wild West has already been won.

No, today’s about what the missus saw on one of those “We work together, we’re fabulous, and now we’re here to shame you until you’re competent” shows—brought to you by your friends at Home Depot. More saving. More doing. Indeed.

Bitter? Not me. I mean, I don’t even own a saw. Not my skill set. But I say, if you’re going to be one of those D.I.Y. types, then at least let me present something worthy of your time. Shiplap? That’s a fad.
Amps, on the other hand, are in our blood.

“Lee, no doubt—no truer statement has ever been uttered. I love the way you just laid it down.”

Thank you, my brother.

Why do I bring this up on the description of this amp?

Because this amp, although mostly original—with the exception of the caps, main transformer, and possibly the knobs—can be salvaged for substantially less than what you'd spend on an all-original 1965 counterpart, you're looking at saving a thousand bucks, easy.

A '65 transformer? Maybe $150, give or take. As for the knobs—I'm no expert—but I believe the tuxedo-style was more of a '63/'64 thing, not '65.

Now, on to the condition? I'd call it "very good." The tolex presents well, and the speaker sounds solid and well preserved. This amp was just serviced—like, yesterday—by Edwards Amplification and will show up ready to play straight out of the box. And yes, it’ll be packed professionally, because you deserve nothing less.

In closing, my friends, this is an easy decision. Building decks demands sacrifice and offers only suffering in return. Refurbishing an amp, on the other hand, brings joy for a lifetime.

And as for her?
I hear chocolate and the Hallmark Channel are kryptonite.

The alternative?
Well… I just explained it.
