Restored Technics RS-631 Cassette deck.
69 capacitors replaced.
New main Belt.
Tape counter works.
Restored September 2025
****Note rust on the "bottom cover" the inside of the bottom cover is fine. Some discoloration on the playback keys as excepted with the deck's age. Some peeling of the laminated veneer on top of the wooden case.**** (see photos).
The auto stop works with rewind and FF however, the auto stop (while playing the tape) does not. The unit will make clicking noises at the end of the tape and you must stop the tape manually. FF, Rewind, and Play work fine. Did not have a blank tape to check recording function so unsure of its status but would assume it works. I am not sure how the "auto play memory" function works but when button is depressed while fast forwarding or reversing the unit will stop when the counter hits "0000".
