This is a 1920's Gibson Jr tenor banjo. It features a maple body with a 10 1/2' diameter skin head, a maple neck on a 19" scale, RW fretboard with 20 frets and Mother-of-Pearl dot inlays, an ivory-like pickguard, and 22 brackets. The head has been replaced at some point before I got it in 2015, but the rest appears to be original. This is the model with the white/cream plastic pickguard and without the trapdoor resonator.

The Gibson Jr TB-JR tenor banjo was produced in the early 1920's and discontinued in 1925. They were not given serial numbers. This one was likely produced in 1923-24, and was made in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

This banjo is in very good condition, especially for a 100-year-old instrument. It comes with the rough original hardshell case.
