This small-bore trombone has just been cleaned up and works fine. The bell engraving says Clev. Mus. Inst. Co., and the serial number 584 dates it to early 1920's. It was possibly made by the H N White company. who bought the Cleveland company in 1925 and made horns for them prior to that date. It has a 7" gold-washed bell and was made without a slide lock or threaded connecting nut. The slide is taper fit to the bell section. There are a few minor dings on the bell section and the end of the slide has been soldered a bit crudely, though it is solid. Original case and mouthpiece, which is stamped 19.
These horns are known for their power and projection for lead and jazz players.
