Hohner Guitaret *SUPER RARE*

This is an excellent condition Hohner Guitaret.

This is an extremely rare and desirable instrument from the 1960s. It’s a wholly unique creation that’s coveted for its beautiful sound, quirky design, and the distinct playing style it invites.

The Guitaret is a Kalimba type instrument with a pickup that goes to a step-up output transformer for sending the signal to your amplifier. The Guitaret was invented at Hohner by Ernst Zacharias, the same man who invented the Hohner Clavinet D6. The Guitaret was a flop during its time of production only to be rediscovered 50 / 60 years later. It's a beautiful dreamy sounding instrument perfect for soundscapes or movie soundtracks. This NOS unit was recently uncovered from storage in a music shop (it is from the early 1960's roughly 60 years old so it is pretty surreal to find it in this condition)

This Guitaret is in very good condition with original leatherette outer case, instruction booklet, cardboard outer box and custom made adapter cable. For whatever reason, someone at the Hohner factory forgot to print the chord examples on one side of this example. This Guitaret has been completely overhauled by Clementine repairs in Germany and has received a full set of new dampers and a lubrication / adjustment of the moving parts. The result is a beautiful playing instrument that is plug and play. Since Hohner only made a very small amount of Guitaret's this is a fantastic option to buy one in this condition.
