Classic 1960 Gibson ES-125TC in excellent condition.
Gibson’s thin body ES-125 was introduced for 1960 upon the discontinuation of the slightly dressier ES-225 at the end of 1959. The 125TC was a cut-away version of the popular thin-body ES-125T which had been selling well through the first three years of its production up to the end of ’59. It’s easy to see why the new thinlines were selling well – they were easy and fun to play, offered some natural acoustic amplification, and fared better against feedback than their full-depth cousins. Did I mention this has a smokin' P-90 pickup?
This example dates from mid-year 1960 and features the cherry sunburst finish. It’s in mint condition and is set up well, sound fabulous, and looks great. The electronics are factory original.
The neck has the full width and low C carve that was typical of 1960. It’s a fast-playing neck with a great feel. The frets show very little wear and play cleanly in all neck positions. 1-11/16” nutwidth, 24.75” scale.
There is a small crack repair near the headstock shown in the photos. The repair is stable and does not affect the guitar in any way.
