Vintage Fender-branded GE 6L6GC pair with classic GE-manufactured 6L6GC construction; Flat gray rectangular plates, with three holes in each plate and two side crimps. Pull from 1967 Fender Bandmaster. Matched and mechanically excellent.
Tested strong. Measued in-circuit at 448 V. Measured idle: 30.8 mA & 32.7 mA (≈13.8 W & 14.7 W) — note these were measured in an amp with a 6V6 bias range. If rebiased to standard 6L6 settings at 448 V they would read ~37–44 mA (≈16.5–19.5 W).
GE 6L6GCs are known for:
- Clean, tight bass
- Bright top end (slightly more sparkle than RCA)
- Smooth breakup, but a little more “hi-fi” than RCA blackplates
- Extremely rugged — they can take Fender plate voltages (450–500 V) all day
