This is a very cool old Ludwig bass drum in blue silver duco. This is a single tension 22x14 drum. Based on old catalogs I believe it to be a Spotlight model based on the single tension lugs. The keystone badge has a serial number so I think that puts it between 1964-69.
The chrome is in pretty nice for its age. There is pitting and some scratches on the lug casings. The duco finish has faded and has numerous scuffs and scratches. There is also a school ID name and number etched into the shell. The drum has Remo Fiberskyns front and back. The spurs are non original but fit the original mounts. The spur mount thumb screws are also non original but are the correct 1/4" by 28 thread.
Along with the drum is a period correct Ludwig Speed Master pedal. The pedal is functional but has a non-original bolt securing the beater rod. The wing screw for the hoop clamp is seized. Perhaps some penetrating spray would loosen it up.
Overall a terrific vintage bass drum! Shoot me a message if you'd like to see more pics. Make me an offer on this old guy!
